My dog is rather large, and most landlords that say that they will consider pets balk when I tell them what kind of dog I have. Am I out of luck?

Tenant FAQ » About Member Services

Many landlords that advertise that they may take pets have limits on the size, breed, and even age of pet that they will accept. The best thing that you can do to overcome this difficulty is to first meet with the landlord, inspect the property, and provide documents that show good rental and credit history, and then discuss the pet situation with the landlord. If your pet is well behaved, and you can produce letters from a previous landlord that can prove this then the landlord may be more inclined to accept you and your pet. Keep in mind that you may be asked to put down a larger pet-deposit for a larger pet.
